Lea TalCEO

Lea Tal leads her team of seasoned executive recruiters, leveraging 21+ years of experience in healthcare recruitment and a passion for forging dynamic professional relationships. She holds a degree in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Lea entered the healthcare industry in 1996, starting out as a recruiter and then quickly working her way up to Vice President.

With a proven track record of outstanding client service and successful job placements, Lea decided to open Tal in 2006. The company has consistently grown and expanded, now with nearly 30 employees and a recently launched physician and clinician division.

Lea is dedicated to advancing the career paths of healthcare professionals, both inside and outside of the office, by participating in many professional memberships (such as the ACHE, HFMA, AHHE, HLNY and Women in Healthcare), attending numerous networking events in the Tri-State area, and conducting lectures and interview counseling for professionals and graduating students in masters programs. She is also very involved in the Young Jewish Professional organization.

Her awards and accolades for outstanding leadership and service include Woman of the Year in Healthcare Search Firms (National Association of Professional and Executive Women, 2010) and “WOW” Woman of Westchester (Westchester County Business Journal, 2011). She attributes her professional success to a strong passion for her field, a powerful work ethic, and consistent networking and relationship building. Lea is also dedicated to her community, giving back by participating in events and projects for many of her favorite charities and non-profits.

Mary Ann MillerRecruitment Account Manager

Mary Ann brings more than 20 years’ experience in healthcare recruiting and medical sales to Tal Physicians. Since joining Tal, Mary Ann has been instrumental in the placement of clinical physicians, healthcare financial executives and operations professionals.

Prior to joining Tal Physicians, Mary Ann successfully completed numerous searches in the pharmaceutical industry.

These searches included the placement of scientists, clinical physicians, PharmDs and nurses in pre-clinical, medical and regulatory affairs. Mary Ann earned a degree in Business Management.

Allie HalperinDirector - Healthcare Search

Allie Halperin began recruiting at Tal in 2007, after previously working as a pharmacy recruiter, and prior to that, in fundraising. Her passion for helping people succeed in their professional lives led her to pursue a full time career in recruitment. Allie holds a BA in Interpersonal Communications, with a Minor in Psychology.

She has been a major contributor to the success and growth of Tal by opening client accounts at various nationally renowned hospitals, as well as medical practices, in the New York Metropolitan area. She has also recruited and placed many accomplished professionals, helping them to advance in their careers. While she specializes in nurse recruitment, she has recently expanded into the operations area, and has already achieved success.

Fran PhilipsDirector - Healthcare Search

Fran is a seasoned recruiter who joined Tal in 2008, after a long career in medical billing for multi-specialty practices including dermatology, dental, and ophthalmology. She specializes in recruitment for billing, coding, practice management, revenue and finance roles. Due to her past experience as a medical biller, she has gained particular insight into the world of healthcare and has an in-depth understanding of what hiring managers are looking for in future candidates.

Fran has become an expert in helping candidates navigate the often challenging road to achieving their desired position in healthcare; she provides essential interviewing tips, emphasizes the importance of continued education and certifications for career advancement among other professional recommendations. She enjoys assisting her candidates in growing in their specialized occupations while pursuing the next steps in their career paths. She is an expert in identifying and placing top talent for her clients as well. Fran holds a BA in English and Education from Brooklyn College.

Ellen Pressberg, MBARecruitment Account Manager

Ellen has close to 20 years of experience in recruitment, with over 4 years exclusively for the healthcare industry since joining TAL Healthcare. Ellen specializes in Operations, Finance, Managed Care, HR and Support placements.

Ellen prides herself on her ability to find and present candidates that fit the clients’ needs, in terms of both skill sets and soft skills.

In turn, she is gratified to give candidates career advice and to guide them through the interviewing process. She feels lucky to be part of the healthcare space, which has allowed her to work with so many very intelligent and passionate people.

Richard Fenton, MBAVP - Healthcare Search

Rich joined TAL Healthcare, the premier Executive Search Firm in the New York Metro Region, in 2011. He has successfully leveraged his professional network and significant knowledge of the healthcare industry to develop a thriving recruitment practice.

Rich specializes in C-Suite, Supply Chain, Managed Care, Finance, Human Resources, Operations, Business Development, Academic, Community Health Center (FQHC) and Private/For Profit leadership searches and is always available and interested in discussing the particular needs for any assignment.

Monica Heymann, MBAVP - Healthcare Search

Monica manages Tal’s newly opened Florida Office in the Tampa area. With over 25 years of experience in marketing, business development and strategic planning, she brings unparalleled insight to every search she conducts. Monica recruits for healthcare organizations particularly in the areas of healthcare IT, C-Suite, operations and finance.

She maintains a sharp focus on making companies more valuable by developing the talent pipeline and striving to surpass her client’s expectations.

Monica prides herself on building ongoing value for companies by becoming their resource for locating, qualifying and recruiting proven performers with a great cultural fit. Monica holds a BA in Bio-Psychology and an MBA in Marketing and Business strategy.

Jody MancusiDirector - Healthcare Search

Jody Mancusi is a highly self-motivated business development expert with more than 15 years of Sales experience with most of her time in the Healthcare Industry.
Before joining Tal Healthcare, she worked for Byram Healthcare which specializes in Medical supplies to patient’s home and was an Account Manager and Sales Trainer for the company. Prior to Byram Healthcare she worked for The College Network as a Senior Program Advisor and was responsible for the sale of educational materials at this marketing/publishing company which partnered with various universities to offer online degrees for Nursing and Healthcare.

She attended Westchester Community College studying Early Childhood Education and Business. She began her career as Head Teacher for an Early Childhood Program but something was missing. She knew she had a passion for the Healthcare industry where she truly enjoys working and finds it to be very rewarding. Jody is known for creating extremely deep partnership with her clients and candidates and has a solid knowledge of the healthcare recruitment industry. Results oriented, dynamic recruiting professional with commitment to client service serving many major healthcare organizations throughout the New York Metro area in fulfilling both contract and direct-hire positions.

Patrick MancusoRecruitment Account Manager

Patrick brings both healthcare and recruiting experience to Tal Physicians. For several years, Patrick worked closely with Senior Vice Presidents and nurse managers recruiting nurses and coordinating staffing services for a major tertiary care medical center in the greater New York City area.

Patrick’s recruiting career expanded when he joined an IT staffing company as a Technical Recruiter. Patrick worked with numerous Fortune 500 companies including JP Morgan, Credit Suisse, Morgan Stanley, to name just a few, to help secure the technical talent they needed. Patrick’s blended experience has prepared him for Tal Physicians. He is particularly adept at pinpointing those physicians whose professional skills and personal interests mesh perfectly with the medical talent our clients seek. Patrick is a graduate of Baruch College in New York City.

Dee AshrafRecruitment Account Manager

Dee has extensive experience in Human Resources, with a focus in Recruitment, Training and Sales. Dee has a diverse background from having worked in Europe, to a Fortune 500 company and more recently a start-up company. Before joining Tal, Dee was the Client Director at a Domestic Staffing company where she spearheaded the Long Island market and successfully exceeded her Sales goals. Dee strives to utilize her professional network to cultivate and build relationships with candidates by creating a more open, friendly and communicative relationship.

Dee is originally from the United Kingdom where she studied a BA (Honors) in Modern Languages and European Studies. Upon moving to the United States, she also earned a Master’s in Human Resources from Loyola University, Illinois.

Dr. Jeffrey I. KakishVP – Healthcare Search

Dr. Jeffrey I. Kakish has over 15 years of medical and social service in the healthcare industry. Jeffrey has the unique advantage of combining his medical training with his talent of recruiting and placing physicians for new practice opportunities. He speaks the language that is so useful to other physicians in making the perfect fit. Jeff is a graduate of the Universidad Autonoma De Guadalajara School of Medicine.

He has an excellent academic background and extensive clinical rotation experiences in both Mexico as well as the United States. He has both the clinical knowledge and understanding as a medical doctor in providing, diagnosing, and treating patients in consultation and surgical areas. Jeffrey has been a respite care provider for the mentally disabled for over 15 years. Dr. Kakish has met the challenges of managing staff in various locations including hospitals, medical offices, and private residences while overseeing the highest level implementation of quality patient care. Jeffrey is proficient in English, Spanish, and Arabic language and cultural traditions. Jeffrey has strong community ties and contributes much of his spare time to volunteer activities.

John DillonRecruitment Account Manager

John Dillon has been recruiting since 1998, where he began working with one of the most prominent healthcare search firms. A native of the Greater New York City area, John has recruited in healthcare throughout the region. He is experienced in the management of clients as well as candidates.

John has a BA in psychology from SUNY – Albany. With his understanding of people, attention to detail and communication skills, John has proven experience that can advance careers to benefit clients.


Marilyn WeintraubRecruitment Account Manager
Marilyn Weintraub has almost 20 years of experience in healthcare executive search. Throughout her extensive recruitment career, Marilyn has been actively involved in a myriad of searches for hospitals, nursing homes, physician practices, managed care organizations, and ambulatory care facilities.

Marilyn has successfully completed mid and senior level management searches in Human Resources, Facilities Management, Dietary/Food Service, Health Information Management, Rehabilitation, Social Work, Engineering/Construction, Environmental Services, Supply Chain, and Imaging Services. She has worked on diverse searches that range from clinical and administrative office personnel to allied health providers, directors and vice presidents.

Marilyn develops and establishes lasting relationships with both her candidates and clients. Marilyn transitioned into executive search after a career in the book publishing field. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Barnard College.

Lois Sacks, MAVP – Healthcare Search

Lois Sacks brings more than 28 years of full cycle recruitment experience in both contingent and retained executive search within the healthcare industry. She has extensive expertise in recruitment for all clinical areas of Nursing Leadership from mid-level Nursing Managers, Educators, Practitioners to Directors of Nursing and VP Patient Care Services/ CNO Nursing positions.

Lois is also a knowledgeable recruiter in a substantial number of clinical areas in Physician Recruitment from Staff, Directors, Chiefs/Chairman to CMO level positions. In addition, she experienced in recruiting positions in Quality Management, Performance Improvement, Safety, Risk, Management, Case Management and Utilization Review. She has recruited for Hospitals/Academic Medical Centers, Ambulatory Care Facilities, Medical Schools, Colleges of Nursing, Physician Practices, Managed Care Organizations, Adult and Pediatric Long Term Care Facilities, and Special Needs Programs. She has established long lasting relationships with candidates and clients who have confidence in her abilities. Yvonne WallaceSenior Recruiter
Yvonne has successfully contributed to the recruitment of Physicians and Nursing Leadership since 2002. Prior to moving into the healthcare recruitment arena, she worked in corporate human resources at Citibank and grants management with The John A. Harford Foundation.

Yvonne has a proven track record in locating physicians at all levels: Chairman, Chief Medical Officer, Division Directors and specialized staff within acute care, medical schools, faculty practice plans, private physician practices, primary care clinics and nursing homes. Additionally she has successfully located candidates for senior level Nursing Administrative positions such as Chief Nursing Officers, Assistant/Vice Presidents for Nursing/Patient Care Services, Directors/Assistant Directors, Nurse Practitioners, Nurse Educators/Clinical Nurse Specialists, Nurse Midwives and Nurse Managers.

Magdalena brings 17 years of customer service success to healthcare recruiting. A versatile and accomplished manager, she holds extensive knowledge in customer service, human resources and corporate administration.

Magdalena is a strong and enthusiastic leader with a passion for negotiations and building cohesive teams. Known for her energetic inquisitiveness and creative problem solving, Magdalena is the go-to person for solutions. Originally from Poland, Magdalena holds a Master of Science in Political and Social Science from the University of Piast.

Ami DiomberaSenior Recruiter
Ami Diombera comes to Tal Healthcare with over 10 years’ experience in Administrative, Financial, Accounting and Clinical Recruitment. She has a passion for the field of Human Resources and embraces each aspect of it. Ami’s experience with customer relations extends from her college years and into her Sales and Recruitment career as Division Director, including 7 years with Robert Half. As Division Director she managed numerous accounts and generated over a million dollars in revenue.

Having spent her early childhood in West Africa as well as in East Africa, Ami is a very culturally diverse, even by New York standards. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing from SUNY Old Westbury. Technically savvy, Ami is skilled in SAP HR, WorkDay HRIS System, PeopleAnswer Applicant Tracking System, Kenexa Applicant Tracking System, and Kronos Time Keeping Tracking System.

Joan Segall, MBADirector - Healthcare Search

Joan joined Tal when the company first launched in 2006. Joan’s expertise in recruitment covers a wide range of fields including physician and clinicians, administrative management, financial planning and budgeting, revenue cycle management, professional billing, fundraising, human resources, multi-site specialty practice management, process and quality improvement, and many more.

Prior to joining our team, Joan worked in a variety of roles in the healthcare industry which have shaped her diverse knowledge and skill set in seeking out talented individuals to fill critical roles at health care institutions. For 16 years, Joan served as Administrative Director for the Department of Surgery for with Montefiore Medical Center. Her areas of management expertise cover a number of surgical specialties, including neurosurgery and orthopedic surgery. She also held the position of Administrative Director of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Columbia University. Joan holds a BA in History and Political Science from the State University of New York at Binghamton, and an MBA with specialization in Health Care from CUNY/Mt. Sinai School of Medicine.


Bridget GaltoOperations Consultant

Bridget joined our Tal Operations team in 2012. She provides administrative support for both divisions and holds the responsibility of ensuring consistent data accuracy in the database, that leads to improved effectiveness and efficiency of operations in the office.

Aside from database auditing, she provides training and assistance as needed and assists staff members with projects and administrative issues and concerns. Bridget studied Finance and Economics at Pace University in Pleasantville, NY.

Kelly KettenringDirector of Operations

Beginning in college, Kelly acquired and developed strong sales and management skills. Immediately prior to joining Tal, Kelly held a management position, within a large sales organization, where she exceeded all sales goals every year. Kelly’s other passion is to provide top-notch customer service. Tal candidates can be assured of receiving excellent attention and responsiveness when dealing with Kelly.

Kelly is a graduate of Iona College in New Rochelle, NY where she earned a degree in business administration.

Kathy LinCommunications Manager

Kathy Lin has devoted her career to helping people succeed. Most recently, Kathy was a Recruiter and Reference Manager at a premier home staffing agency. In her prior life, Kathy was an Academic Account Executive and Team Leader at SPSS, Inc., a leading statistical analysis software company. Kathy began her career as a Peace Corps Volunteer, teaching science at a rural secondary school in Africa. Upon returning to the states, she taught science at Rye Country Day School then St. Stephens and St. Agnes School.

Kathy holds a BA in Biology from the University of Vermont where she completed all pre-med requirements. Her interest in medicine and her dedication to helping people succeed professionally led her to pursue a full time career in physician recruitment. Kathy is known for her authentic character and her ability to build meaningful professional partnerships with clients. In her free time she enjoys running, skiing and hiking and many other outdoor activities.

Kaelyn KettenringDatabase Administrator

Kaelyn Kettenring is a recent graduate of Marywood University, where she earned a Bachelors Degree in Health Services Administration with a Citation in Honors.

 In her three year collegiate experience, her studies included a wide range of courses that integrated business, marketing and the social implications of the ever evolving healthcare delivery system.During this time, she extensively studied the Medicaid participants role in the emergency service delivery system and composed a thesis of her evaluation titled, Overutilization of Emergency Services by Medicaid Participants: An Analysis of the Barriers, Causes and Solutions Affecting Active Participants. Apart form her academic career, Kaelyn also has experience in assisted living facility where she worked with each department to better understand their role to improve the elderly population’s quality of life. Kaelyn excels at improving communication between departments and optimizing team efficiency.

Agrein TalIT Administrator

Agrein brings unique experience and dedication to the operations team at Tal Healthcare. With an ardent dedication to Learning and Technology, Agrein Tal earned a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology at the University of San Agustin, Iloilo Philippines. As a Scholar and Working Student, in addition to her coursework, she was employed to manage the Student scholarships, the University’s active Organization’s requirements, and the Student’s IDs. She was also a member of the University Choir.

After College, Agrein ventured into the Customer Service Arena; progressing through her learning curve by improving her communication skills. She also pursued a career in Information Technology as a Desk Site Support and Information Technology Inventory. In addition, Agrein has experience as a Billing Processor which resulted in a promotion to Caller Identification Manager. Afterward, she took the opportunity to become a Valued Service Coordinator providing her with superb experience in complex scheduling, organizing legal documents, and managing related bank issues.

Ella ZiveAdministrative Assistant

Ellen (Ella) Zive has more than 25 years’ experience in office support positions including, Human Resources, Front Desk and Practice management. She thrives in an environment that requires a diverse set of skills and flourishes when multi-tasking. Known for being a consummate problem solver, Ella’s motto is ‘I will figure it out and it will get done’.

Ella received her BA in Psychology and Business from Albany State University. Starting her career in Human Resources with JPMorgan Chase, Ella refined her skills in recruiting, hiring, training and change management.

In her free time, she enjoys traveling and listening to live music.

Danielle DiCesarisHuman Resource Assistant

With experience in recruitment, administration, management and human resources, Danielle brings a wealth of skills to Tal Healthcare Operations team.  Immediately upon graduation from Manhattan College with her BA in Business Management, Danielle began recruiting for a B2B sales company.  Here she developed exceptional sourcing, interviewing and hiring skills. Moving on to a Human Resources Administrator role, she refined her management, analytic and collaboration skills.

A California native, Danielle finds New York to be an exciting new adventure. When not working she enjoys spending time with her puppy and volunteering at an animal shelter. Danielle can also be found in her kitchen trying out new recipes.
